History of the Juve y Camps Family: The history of this family cellar begins more than 200 years ago when Joan Juvé Mir, a winegrower, establishes the first premises of the company. His son Antonio took the reins soon, and it was he who had to face the terrible phylloxera. The children of the marriage took charge of the family business back in 1941 and formed the fourth generation at the head of the winery. Josep and Joan Juvé Camps were the visible head of the project and promoted the construction of a new building for the winery and decided, later, the expansion of the cellars. They also used the most advanced technology to optimize the process of making their cavas.
Thus, over the years the project has remained true to its essence without losing sight of the possibility of continuing to grow. In fact, Juvé & Camps already has a great presence in the international market and its cavas enjoy a great reputation throughout the planet.
In 2015, Juvé & Camps was granted certification for our organic winegrowing. To do so, we made the necessary changes in our agricultural processes and restructured the vineyards, eliminating any chemical insecticides and herbicides. Only authorized organic products are used to neutralize and combat the fungi that can attack the grapevines. Furthermore, fallow periods of up to 7 years let the land rest and recover. The result: healthy, balanced, top-quality grapes.
